This short yet exciting safari takes you to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s premier wildlife destination. Known for its vast savannah plains and abundant wildlife, the reserve is home to the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. The reserve is also famous for the annual wildebeest migration from the Serengeti National Park.
Depart from Nairobi in the morning and drive through the spectacular Great Rift Valley escarpment with a scenic stop for photos. Continue via Narok town to reach the Maasai Mara in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other plains wildlife.
Spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of the reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives offer excellent opportunities to spot predators such as cheetahs and lions as well as large herds of herbivores. Picnic lunch in the reserve allows you to spend more time in the wilderness.
