Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
Depart Nairobi and drive north through Kenya’s central highlands before descending into the semi-arid landscapes of Samburu. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
This safari explores the unique wildlife and landscapes of northern Kenya including the rugged wilderness of Samburu National Reserve and the conservation areas of the Laikipia Plateau. The safari also includes a visit to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s leading wildlife conservation areas and home to a large population of endangered rhinos.
Depart Nairobi and drive north through Kenya’s central highlands before descending into the semi-arid landscapes of Samburu. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Spend the day exploring Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is home to unique species such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and the long-necked gerenuk.
Another day of wildlife viewing in the reserve with opportunities to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
After breakfast, depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy located on the Laikipia Plateau. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive.
Spend the day exploring the conservancy including visits to the rhino sanctuary and the chimpanzee sanctuary which houses rescued chimpanzees.
Continue exploring the conservancy with guided game drives and opportunities to see elephants, lions, giraffes, and numerous antelope species.
Enjoy optional activities such as guided nature walks or additional game drives within the conservancy.
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
