9-Day Classic Kenya Wildlife Safari

Depart from Nairobi in the morning and drive south toward Amboseli National Park near the Kenya–Tanzania border. The journey passes through Maasai pastoral lands with scenic views of the countryside. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the park’s open plains where elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes are commonly seen. If weather conditions allow, you will enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the landscape.

Spend the day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. The park is famous for its large elephant herds and excellent photographic opportunities. The wetlands and swamps attract hippos, buffalo, and numerous bird species, while predators such as lions and hyenas may also be spotted.

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel north toward the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy scenic views of dramatic escarpments and fertile farmlands along the way. Arrive at your lodge near Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional boat safari on the lake where hippos and a wide variety of birds including African fish eagles and pelicans can be seen.

After breakfast, visit the nearby Hell's Gate National Park where visitors can explore the park by bicycle or on foot. The park features towering cliffs, geothermal activity, and wildlife such as zebras, gazelles, and giraffes. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation.

Depart Lake Naivasha after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive around the lake. The park is famous for its flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and numerous other wildlife species.

Enjoy an early morning game drive before departing for the Masai Mara. The drive takes you through scenic countryside and Maasai pastoral lands. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive.

Spend the day exploring the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The Mara is known for its incredible wildlife populations including lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, and large herds of herbivores.

Another full day in the reserve offers further opportunities to explore different parts of the park including the Mara River where hippos and crocodiles live and where the famous wildebeest migration crossings occur during migration season.

Enjoy a final early morning game drive followed by breakfast before returning to Nairobi in the afternoon.
